Lido Shores

Lido Shores

Long Beach is one of the older, more established communities on Long Island. Founded in 1880 when the first Long Beach Hotel was built, it continued to grow at a steady pace (the railroad arrived in 1882 promoting Long Beach as a resort community for vacationers). The major attraction in its development was the fact that it’s an oceanfront island along Long Island’s south shore which has a moderating effect on its climate. Long Beach averages 10 degrees warmer in the winter and 10 degrees cooler in the summer than inland communities on Long Island and New York City. With the ocean on one side and the bay on the other, Long Beach is a seaside playground.

Completely remodeled for beach style living

Only one block from the beautiful beach

2 bicycles for your cruising pleasure

Flatscreen TV and free wi-fi during your visit

By the beach on the oceanfront there is a 2.5-mile long boardwalk where you’ll find strollers, joggers and bikers in both winter and summer. Locals use the boardwalk as a means of transportation from the east end to the west end of Long Beach. Stop off at Riptides for some fish tacos or hit up the food trucks parked on Riverside Boulevard after a day of volleyball and surfing. The beaches of Long Beach are some of the best on all of Long Island.
